Abstract
This study evaluated the reduction of mobile forms of heavy metals in artificially contaminated irrigated typical sierozem soils cultivated with the rice (Oryza sativa L.) cultivars Alanga and Lazurniy under vegetation experiment conditions. The results showed a consistent decrease in the mobile forms of Cu, Pb, Ni, Cd, Cr, Co, and Zn during 2021-2023 across all experimental treatments. The greatest reductions in the Lazurniy cultivar were recorded for Zn (102.03-45.08 mg/kg), Pb (31.23-13.80 mg/kg), and Cr (16.85-7.44 mg/kg), whereas in the Alanga cultivar the largest decreases were observed for Zn (82.19-42.01 mg/kg; 40.18 mg/kg), Pb (29.61-15.14 mg/kg; 14.47 mg/kg), and Cr (21.14-7.15 mg/kg; 13.99 mg/kg). These findings demonstrate that both rice cultivars are effective in the phytoremediation of heavy metalcontaminated soils.
