Abstract
This article assesses the degree of heavy metal contamination in the soils of the Yangiyul and Pskent districts of the Tashkent region. Research was conducted near the Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex, which is considered an industrial source. The content of Pb, Cd, As, Cr, Ni, Cu, Zn, and other chemical elements was determined in the soil samples. The results showed that the content of Cd, As, Pb, and Zn in the Haydarov massif of Pskent district is significantly higher than normal. It has been established that the level of soil pollution in the Yangiyul district is relatively average. The ecological condition of soils was assessed based on the Soil Quality Index (SQI) method, which confirmed the high level of technogenic impact in the Pskent district. The obtained results show that technogenic factors negatively affect the chemical composition of the soil and the stability of the agroecosystem. In particular, it was established that Cd, Pb, and As elements are of priority importance in terms of environmental hazard.
