Abstract
This study evaluates the soil health status of irrigated soils in the Fergana region using the scientifically grounded integrated indicator — the Soil Quality Index (SQI). The research included analysis of soil texture, humus content, nutrient reserves, salinity level, and concentrations of toxic chemical elements. The results indicate that soil fertility parameters remain relatively stable; however, the exceedance of permissible concentrations of certain heavy metals and arsenic (As) contributes to the formation of environmental risks. Based on the SQI assessment, scientific and practical conclusions were formulated regarding the sustainable use of irrigated soils in the Fergana region and the improvement of their ecological condition.
