Abstract

Global climate change and ongoing soil degradation exert significant pressure on arid agroecosystems, disrupting soil biochemical processes and carbon stability. This study evaluated the effects of silicon-based amendments on soil humus content and antioxidant enzyme activity in 12-day-old seedlings of the cotton variety “Bukhara-8” grown in irrigated alluvial-meadow soils. The results demonstrated that the Aminosid-Silicon produced the most pronounced enhancement in enzymatic activity. The findings indicate that silicon amendments contribute to humus stabilization in soils and stimulate enzymatic activity in cotton plants, representing a promising adaptive strategy to mitigate soil degradation processes in arid environments.
