Abstract
The article presents the results of studies conducted on rain-fed, virgin soils common on the slopes, foothills and piedmont plains of mountain ranges in the southern regions of the republic. The composition of macroaggregates, general physical properties, water permeability and field moisture capacity of virgin, rainfed soils are distinguished. Depending on the geographical location of places, slope exposure, depth of moistening and moisture capacity of the soil profile, the ability of virgin, rainfed soils to accumulate moisture is studied.
